Phoenix Interfaith Counseling provides psychotherapy and
psychiatric services for adults, families, adolescents and
children. We offer specialized services to deal with the difficult
problems of suicidal and self-harming behaviors in adults and
adolescents, eating disorders, and marital and sexual therapy.
P.I.C. provides training and supervision in its clinical residency
program and conducts workshops for mental health professionals.
We work closely with the community to provide workshops and
presentations to churches and other non-profit organizations.
We actively partner with organizations like Homeward Bound and
Florence Crittenden to help them provide counseling services to
their clients who are in need.

Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Each year, almost 5,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 take
their own lives. This age group is also more likely to engage in self-harming
behaviors like cutting, burning, drug and alcohol use, risky sexual activity,
and other impulsive activities. The rate of suicide for this age group has
nearly tripled since 1960, making it the third leading cause of death in adolescents.
Statistics also show that although girls attempt suicide more often, boys
tend to be more lethal.

Co-occurring disorders
Is This Program for You?
This group is for people who are trying to cope with both a mental health
condition and substance abuse. This is what is known as a Co-Occurring Disorder.
Research indicates that 40-60 percent of all mental health clients also have
problems with chemical abuse/dependency. Without proper clinical treatment
these disorders can lead to relapse or a return to previous behaviors.
